Our Story

Useful Farm Products is a small company operating out of a 54 acre farm.  Over several decades we have raised a variety of animals including cattle, horses, yaks, alpacas, llamas, chickens, goats and donkeys.  Through many agricultural groups and associations, we have visited many varying farm operations over the United States.  In the summer when we have had visitors to our farm by friends and other farm operators, a common question always seemed to be asked; “where are the flies”?

Over the years, through many experiences and tests, Useful Farm Products has developed a very effective fly control program we call the “Knockout Flies Program” which uses a 1-2-3 punch knockout combination of biologicals, fly traps, and specialized electronic fly zappers. All the products we sell have been used and tested on our own farm. From our own experiences and the comments from our industry friends and visitors, we know that the products we sell are effective and safe.  Operating a farm ourselves, we know the products are simple to use.

We are celebrating our 25th anniversary of offering various products we find useful on our farm. We now are specializing exclusively in fly control and other insect control products. As a bonus this year, we have expanded our product lines to include several special organic and safe insect control products to control other harmful insects like mosquitoes, a white flies, rubs, beetles, and bees.

Philosophy of Useful Farm Products Fly Control

Simply put, fly control products must be safe, easy-to-use, and most importantly, they must be effective!

Safe! – we don’t use toxic sprays, chemicals or poisons as these types of product are usually toxic to flies they cannot be good for cows, alpacas, horses or other livestock. We don’t use ear tags were feed-through or drenches. Again if these kinds of products are toxic to flies or fly larva they cannot be good for livestock. So we only use and sell products that are safe and non-toxic to all livestock and poultry and can be used on organic farms.

Easy-to-use! – Over 25 years we have had the opportunity to test multitudes of fly products: traps, tapes, spray systems, parasites, diatomaceous earth, sprays, rubs, etc. our experience as led us to a combination of four, easy-to-use products that will give you knockout level control of flies.
